Old expedition journals are full of hard choices: which ridge to climb, how much food to carry, when to turn back. Those choices make natural puzzles, because each one changes what is possible three moves later.

Hexagonal maps suit that kind of decision. Six neighbours per tile give enough routes to feel open while staying readable on a small screen.

// How a region is made

We draw each region by hand on hex paper, then count the supplies needed for the shortest route and the safest one. A region is kept only when those two routes ask for genuinely different packing.
